Zum is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to own the full contract lifecycle and serve as the internal expert for commercial contracts and legal operations. This is a high-impact, builder-focused role at a fast-growing mobility platform that has transformed student transportation for over 6,500 schools.
You will take end-to-end ownership of Zum's Linksquares CLM platform, designing and implementing scalable processes, workflows, and playbooks that support rapid growth. You'll independently negotiate and manage a diverse portfolio of commercial contracts—including government contracts, vendor agreements, customer SaaS deals, NDAs, and partnership agreements—while serving as a trusted advisor to Sales, Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams.
Key responsibilities include: administering and optimizing the CLM platform; designing contract processes and workflows from the ground up; independently drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements; building contract templates, playbooks, and clause libraries; managing legal records and document repositories; identifying and escalating contractual risks; training internal teams on contract processes and best practices; and triaging legal support requests across the business.
You'll work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment where autonomy and speed are valued. The role requires in-office presence Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at Zum's Redwood City headquarters, and candidates must be located within reasonable commuting distance of the Bay Area.
Required: 5–10 years in contracts management, commercial legal operations, or related field; hands-on CLM platform administration experience (Linksquares preferred); proven track record as an independent commercial contracts negotiator; ability to build processes and systems from scratch; strong cross-functional stakeholder management; self-starter mentality; excellent organizational skills; Bachelor's degree (JD or paralegal certification a plus).
Preferred: Direct Linksquares experience; experience implementing AI-powered CLM tools; background in high-growth tech/startup; familiarity with public sector, transportation, or education contracts; experience scaling a contracts function; knowledge of data privacy and compliance frameworks.
