Campfire is a Series B AI-native core accounting platform designed for modern mid-market finance teams, replacing outdated ERP systems and manual processes.
You will serve as Campfire's lead storyteller, responsible for finding and developing narratives across customers, product, and market positioning, then translating them into compelling content across multiple formats. You'll set the editorial agenda for all brand content, write and edit across long-form, newsletters, video scripts, and social media, and work collaboratively with the video producer, social lead, product marketers, and customer marketing team to establish a distinctive and consistent brand voice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the brand editorial strategy and calendar, defining narratives, series, and formats across long-form content, newsletters, video scripts, and social channels
- Writing and editing thought leadership pieces, customer stories (in partnership with Customer Marketing), founder and executive content, launch narratives, and video scripts and show formats
- Defining and stewarding Campfire's voice by building a style guide and coaching contributors across the Marketing organization
- Developing original, source-worthy content including research, data stories, and frameworks that earn attention and strengthen SEO and AEO authority
- Co-planning with the SEO & AEO Manager to align topics, avoid duplication, and hand off or co-produce overlapping content
- Partnering with Social and Influencer Marketing on distribution strategy and with Creative on visual storytelling
- Measuring content performance through engagement metrics, subscriber growth, assisted pipeline impact, and qualitative feedback, then evolving the program accordingly
Success in the first 90 days means publishing the editorial strategy, voice guide, and Q1 calendar; launching one flagship series (written or video) and establishing the newsletter cadence; and agreeing on content boundaries and a joint calendar with the SEO & AEO team.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in content marketing, journalism, or editorial work, with a portfolio demonstrating range and a recognizable voice
- Exceptional writing and editing skills; ability to make complex B2B topics clear and interesting
- Proven experience building an editorial program (newsletter, series, or brand publication) from concept through audience development
- Comfort scripting for video and collaborating with producers
- Collaborative operating style across SEO, Product Marketing, Social, and Customer Marketing functions
- Sound judgment on brand, tone, and editorial priorities
Nice to have:
- Experience in accounting, finance, or ERP categories or with mid-market finance personas
- Newsletter growth experience
- Basic SEO literacy
