Relativity Space is building advanced rockets, including the Terran R vehicle, to deliver payloads to orbit and meet growing commercial launch demand. The company combines 3D printing technology with aerospace engineering to pioneer a new approach to rocket manufacturing and space access.
The Senior Commercial Counsel will serve as strategic legal counsel supporting Relativity's buy-side commercial transactions and disputes. This role partners cross-functionally to structure and lead negotiations of agreements for technology development, scalable manufacturing, commodities, rocket parts and components, and capex purchase and lease arrangements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Structuring and negotiating high-stakes transactions that enable technology and manufacturing maturity, ensuring alignment with company objectives, financial plans, and legal positions
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of contracts including technology development agreements, rocket parts procurement, manufacturing services, commodities, and capex arrangements
- Providing strategic counsel that translates legal complexity into clear business guidance for leadership and cross-functional teams
- Developing, implementing, and scaling strategies, standards, and playbooks for negotiation, risk mitigation, and dispute resolution for buy-side commercial transactions
- Managing post-contract execution risks and disputes in partnership with business stakeholders
