Salary: USD 170,000 - 225,000 / annual
Altruist is transforming the wealth management industry with an AI platform for financial advisors. The company partners with advisors nationwide to help them grow, optimize resources, and deliver superior client outcomes.
As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will secure Altruist's multi-account AWS and Kubernetes environment, building guardrails and controls that keep the cloud platform hardened as the company scales. This is a hands-on technical role with significant ownership of cloud security architecture and operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hardening the AWS environment across multiple accounts
- Building and maintaining cloud guardrails as infrastructure-as-code
- Owning cloud vulnerability and exposure management
- Partnering with Detection & Response teams on cloud-origin security investigations
- Implementing and managing CSPM tooling and cloud security best practices
You will bring 4+ years of hands-on cloud security engineering experience, with demonstrated expertise in AWS (IAM, organizational SCPs, KMS, networking), Kubernetes/EKS security, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and scripting/automation (Python/Go). A B.A./B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent experience is required.
The ideal candidate is technically savvy, comfortable with modern tech stacks, demonstrates strong ownership and communication skills, and thrives in solving complex security challenges. Experience in regulated environments (fintech/financial services) and relevant certifications (AWS Security Specialty, CKS) are valued.
The role follows a hybrid schedule with three days per week onsite in the San Francisco FiDi or Culver City office.
