Salary: USD 200,000 - 240,000 / annual
Altruist is transforming the wealth management industry with an AI platform for financial advisors. The company partners with advisors nationwide to help them grow, optimize resources, and deliver superior client outcomes.
You will join as a Senior Cloud Security Engineer responsible for securing Altruist's multi-account AWS and Kubernetes environment. This is a hands-on technical role where you'll build and maintain the guardrails and controls that keep the cloud platform hardened as the company scales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hardening the AWS environment across multiple accounts
- Building cloud guardrails using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
- Owning cloud vulnerability and exposure management
- Partnering with Detection & Response teams on cloud-origin security investigations
You bring 4+ years of hands-on cloud security engineering experience with demonstrated expertise in:
- AWS security (IAM, organizational SCPs, KMS, networking)
- Kubernetes/EKS security
- Infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform) and CSPM platforms (e.g., Wiz)
- Scripting and automation (Python, Go, or similar)
- A B.A./B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent professional experience
You're technically savvy, comfortable with modern tech stacks, and possess strong ownership mentality and communication skills. Bonus experience includes work in regulated fintech/financial services environments and relevant certifications (AWS Security Specialty, CKS).
The role is hybrid, requiring three days per week onsite at the San Francisco FiDi or Culver City office.
