Saronic Technologies is developing state-of-the-art autonomous surface vessels for maritime operations and defense applications. The Senior Buyer will lead sourcing, procurement, and supplier management activities to support production and delivery of these autonomous platforms for the Department of Defense.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitor performance against quality, cost, and delivery requirements, and address issues promptly.
• Sourcing & Evaluation: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability. Develop a diversified supply base to reduce risk.
• Negotiation: Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost-effective agreements while maintaining quality standards.
• Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve supply chain efficiency.
• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with engineering, production, and logistics to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess.
• Risk Management: Proactively identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity.
• Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to government regulations and industry standards, particularly those related to defense contracts.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, production, and logistics teams to align procurement with project goals and timelines.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to enhance procurement and supply chain efficiency.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
• Experience in procurement and supplier management, preferably in defense or maritime industry
• Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with government procurement regulations (FAR, DFAR) is a plus
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools
• U.S. Person status required (U.S. citizen, green card holder, or eligible asylee/refugee)
