Flexport is seeking a Senior Business Development Associate to drive growth in its Ocean Consolidation Solutions business across North America. This role focuses on Less-than-Container-Load (LCL) and buyers consolidation services, capitalizing on the industry shift toward smaller, more frequent shipments.
You will own the full sales cycle from lead generation through deal closure, managing sourcing, prospecting, pricing, and deal generation for LCL and buyers consolidation product lines. Key responsibilities include acting as a subject matter expert on consolidation services, supporting demand teams in identifying and closing business, and managing existing account expansion with North America clients.
You will serve as a liaison between product and sales teams, building sales collateral, client messaging, and supporting bid strategy. This includes bid management, long-term pricing strategy, and attainment tracking. You'll partner with APAC product and operations teams to develop scalable processes that improve service quality, consistency, and pricing for North American clients.
Additional duties involve improving the sales playbook, identifying process gaps that slow deal velocity, and providing leadership with regular pipeline, bookings, and volume growth updates. You'll work cross-functionally with Sales, Client Solutions, and Product teams to resolve client issues and identify cross-sell opportunities.
Required qualifications include 3-5 years of sales or business development experience, with ocean freight or LCL experience preferred. You should have working knowledge of LCL, buyers consolidation, or ocean freight forwarding, a proven track record of hitting sales targets, and strong ability to build long-term client relationships. Strong communication skills for presenting to senior stakeholders, cross-functional collaboration across time zones (including APAC), and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential. The ideal candidate is independent, proactive, and self-motivated.
