As a Senior Business Analyst on the Data Science & Insights team, you will translate complex data into actionable insights that drive operational change and measurable client outcomes. You will serve as a primary thought partner for Client Strategy, brainstorming new analytical opportunities, defining KPIs, and developing robust, scalable reporting to inform business strategy.
You will lead technical development across the Data Science & Insights portfolio, from writing SQL queries and developing reusable Python tools to creating Looker dashboards. You will drive the development of scalable client analytics, including automated reporting, self-service QBRs, and high-impact ROI storytelling. You will act as a trusted analytical advisor across Product, Client Services, Sales, and Data Science teams. Your insights will directly influence product direction, client retention, and business prioritization.
Key responsibilities include: providing technical leadership by scaling and automating recurring deliverables while ensuring data trustworthiness; mentoring junior team members on Python, SQL, and dbt best practices; owning end-to-end analytical project lifecycles and operating autonomously to define success criteria; creating high-impact visualizations and business cases demonstrating ROI of AI integration; collaborating with clients and executives to translate complex business questions into insights; and challenging assumptions to ensure team alignment on approach and vision.
Required qualifications: 7+ years as a Business Analyst, Data Scientist, Consultant, or similar role (disability insurance or tech experience preferred); proficiency in Python (Pandas/Polars, scripting), SQL, data modeling (dbt), and visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker); proven ability to explain AI recommendations to non-technical users; familiarity with claims management workflows, duration compression concepts, and disability insurance regulatory landscape preferred.
Compensation includes base salary of $180-200K with flexibility based on background and experience, annual bonus, and company equity (RSUs).
