Zinc is a B2B HR and talent acquisition software company scaling beyond the UK into new markets. This role builds the brand systems and creative output that will make Zinc visually distinctive and credible as it expands internationally.
You'll report to the Head of Brand & Content and manage a small team of two designers (Jenny and Ren), with scope to grow. This is a player-coach role: you lead and develop the team while remaining hands-on in design execution across all channels.
Key responsibilities:
**Brand Design Systems & Processes**: Own execution of Zinc's brand kit and framework across all marketing assets. Establish playbooks for consistent, scalable visual identity internally and externally. Build systems that allow non-designers to produce simple collateral independently, freeing your time for strategic work.
**Hands-On Design Work**: Personally create digital and physical assets in Figma and InDesign—campaign creative, social and ad assets, print, event stands, direct mail. This role requires execution, not just direction and review.
**Cross-Functional Creative**: Work closely with Brand, Content, Demand Generation, and Product Marketing to bring campaign ideas to life across multiple channels and audiences. Push for memorable touchpoints that maintain trust in new markets.
**Creative Leadership**: Lead campaign brainstorms, ideate ways to cut through in a crowded B2B space, and support the team in elevating brand work. Develop Jenny and Ren's impact and prioritize the biggest opportunities.
**International Brand Expansion**: As Zinc enters new markets, ensure visual identity remains consistent and credible through systems, processes, photography, and collateral that flex without losing brand recognition. Adapt identity for regional norms while keeping it unmistakably on-brand.
Success is measured by: brand consistency across UK and new markets with clear guidelines; creative cut-through in HR/TA audiences (measured by engagement and third-party coverage); a documented, accessible design system; team growth and expanded output; international traction; and production velocity with end-to-end ownership.
**Requirements:**
- Significant design experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or high-growth companies, creating engaging campaign creatives
- Clear perspective on world-class B2B SaaS brand visual identity and what makes companies stand out
- Real, hands-on production experience across digital and physical mediums with a sharp eye for quality across channels
- Track record building brand systems that scale team output consistently across touchpoints (paid ads, events, direct mail)
- Experience building brand systems across multiple markets, not single-market playbooks; comfortable adapting visual identity for regional norms
- Genuine player-coach mentality: lead and develop a team while making things yourself
- Evidence of building scalable brand and creative systems; portfolio demonstrating creative cut-through in traditionally dry industries across multiple mediums
- People management experience: can direct, support, and develop direct reports
- Proficiency in Figma and InDesign (or Adobe equivalents); video skills a plus
- Ability to independently design and deliver work from brief through live, with sign-off as approval rather than production
- Ability to work from imperfect briefs, challenge assumptions, and shape the right solution
**Nice to haves:**
- Experience designing for audiences where trust and credibility are essential
- Motion design or advanced prototyping experience
