Garner Health is seeking a Senior Billing & Accounts Receivable Analyst to own the company's monthly invoicing and A/R function end-to-end. This is a high-volume, high-visibility role managing approximately 800 invoices per month across diverse client arrangements (standard, self-bill, and bespoke). The role reports to the Finance team at a healthcare technology company focused on transforming the U.S. healthcare economy through employer-sponsored benefit redesign and data-driven care optimization.
Key responsibilities include: managing the complete monthly invoicing process from query management through invoice generation and distribution; establishing and maintaining controls, validation, and review processes to ensure accuracy across invoice completeness, plan coverage, rates, and banking data; owning the A/R function from issuance through cash receipt, including collections management, ACH processing, and cash application; responding to client, broker, and internal billing inquiries within SLAs; and maintaining billing data accuracy across internal systems and external AP/supplier portals (Coupa, SAP, etc.).
A significant differentiator is the company's investment in automation. The Finance team has built a suite of internal AI tools (Claude "skills") that automate recurring work. The successful candidate will operate, maintain, and continuously improve this automation tooling rather than recreating manual processes. This includes using AI-powered tools for self-bill generation, cash application, dashboard creation, and batch QA.
Additional responsibilities include owning and tracking Billing and A/R performance metrics (DSO, AR turnover, aging, invoice error rate, on-time batch rate, SLA attainment), identifying process improvement opportunities, and maintaining comprehensive SOPs and documentation to eliminate single points of failure.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience owning Billing and A/R processes in high-volume environments, proficiency with financial systems (QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or similar), strong analytical and reconciliation skills, and familiarity with data tools (Salesforce, Snowflake/SQL). A continuous-improvement mindset and genuine interest in leveraging automation and AI to enhance process accuracy, efficiency, and scalability are essential. The role is fully remote but based in the US, with occasional travel to Garner's NYC headquarters expected.
