You'll join the Core Command team to scale Auth, Users, Roles, and Audit capabilities for Verkada's core products, serving the world's largest organizations. This role focuses on building the infrastructure that powers physical security and access management at global scale.
Key responsibilities:
- Design scalable control planes and data primitives across all Verkada products
- Build distributed systems handling high traffic from hundreds of thousands of devices deployed globally
- Architect and spin up new microservices to support growing platform capabilities
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
- 4+ years of industry experience in backend/systems engineering
- Proven experience building and scaling access systems to millions of users worldwide
- Mastery of Python or Go
- Strong experience with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL), key-value stores (Redis, Memcached), distributed queueing (Kafka), and cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience with gRPC, API specifications, and React
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be willing to work onsite five days per week in San Mateo
