As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be at the core of building the technology that powers bunch's platform. You'll design and implement robust, scalable, and secure backend services that solve real customer problems in the private markets space. You'll collaborate closely with Product Managers in problem discovery and solution creation, leveraging your technical expertise to influence the product roadmap. Working across cross-functional teams, you'll ensure smooth delivery of new features and improvements while maximizing team output by enhancing functionality and proactively addressing technical debt.
The ideal candidate combines a passion for technology with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong problem-solving skills. You should be a team player with excellent communication and a strong work ethic. Required qualifications include proficiency in backend development with TypeScript or another strongly typed language, SQL databases, and frameworks like Nest.js or Spring Boot. You need a strong understanding of system design principles, scalability, and performance tuning, plus 5+ years of professional experience building backend systems in fast-paced environments. Experience with fintech, highly regulated industries, or document processing is a plus.
The tech stack includes TypeScript on both frontend (Svelte, moving to React) and backend (Node.js with Nest.js), MySQL for databases, Kubernetes on AWS for infrastructure, and GitHub for source control and CI/CD.
