You'll join a small, dynamic team building cloud-managed access control systems—positioned as a startup within the larger organization. The Access Control product line enables users to manage doors, schedules, and credentials from anywhere via laptop or phone. This role offers significant ownership and autonomy alongside firmware, backend, and frontend engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing scalable distributed systems for access control infrastructure
- Owning technical systems end-to-end, from concept through production
- Solving complex, ambiguous problems with limited initial guidance
- Collaborating cross-functionally to deliver best-in-class products and user experiences
- Mentoring and learning from teammates in a fast-growing environment
You bring 5+ years of industry software engineering experience with proficiency in server-side languages (Python, Go). You have hands-on expertise in distributed system design including databases, queues, and blob storage. You're self-motivated, thrive in agile environments, and hold a BS or graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field. You must be willing to work onsite five days per week in San Mateo.
