Monzo is seeking a Senior Audit Innovation and Enablement Lead to transform Internal Audit through data-driven and AI-powered solutions. This is a hybrid role based in London (with flexibility for UK remote work) within Monzo's Third Line of Defence function.
You will serve as an individual contributor with significant influence across the organization, responsible for building and deploying scalable AI and automation products that redefine how assurance is delivered at Monzo. This is not a traditional audit role—instead, you'll think like a product owner, combining technical expertise in data science and analytics with deep understanding of risk and control frameworks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Championing a product-owner mindset across Internal Audit, focused on technology-enabled, repeatable, value-driven assurance
- Driving innovation culture and translating creative concepts into practical solutions
- Collaborating with the Head of Professional Practices and audit teams to identify opportunities and define product roadmaps
- Designing data-driven test strategies and translating control objectives into scalable analytical tests
- Building, deploying, and maintaining AI and automation solutions while advocating for their adoption
- Fostering data-led risk understanding through data science
- Establishing robust monitoring controls over key datasets ingested into data products
- Staying current with emerging technology trends and ensuring Internal Audit leverages broader organizational developments
- Building collaborative relationships with stakeholders outside Internal Audit, including the Data Discipline
- Training and upskilling the Internal Audit function on data and AI solutions
Ideal candidates have experience in fast-moving environments, strong technical foundations in data science and analytics engineering, product-owner mindset with ability to influence without authority, and understanding of AI/automation risks and control design. Audit background is not required; technical building capability and product thinking are prioritized.
