Salary: USD 169,900 - 212,400 / annual
Mercury is a fintech platform providing banking, treasury, and financial workflow solutions for startups and technology companies. The company is seeking a Senior Associate for Venture Ecosystem Sales to build relationships within the startup and venture ecosystem and drive new customer acquisition.
In this role, you will lead new business development from first meeting through close, working directly with founders and investors. You'll design and host intimate dinners, events, and gatherings that create genuine value for the startup community. Your responsibilities include building lasting 1:1 relationships across top venture firms, accelerators, and early-stage communities, and collaborating with internal VC Partnerships and Relationship Management teams to co-create portfolio programs and strategic initiatives.
You'll champion Mercury's product capabilities—highlighting how the platform simplifies business banking through smarter controls and seamless payments—and share field insights to inform product direction and strengthen Mercury's connection to the startup world. This is a quota-carrying sales role where success is measured by new logos generated, the strength and longevity of relationships built, community resonance through events, and field feedback that informs strategy.
The ideal candidate has credibility within the startup and venture ecosystem through investing, sales, partnerships, community experience, or founder experience. You're energized by in-person connection, skilled at relationship-building and consultative selling, detail-oriented, and deeply committed to creating meaningful value. You should be based in New York or San Francisco, as the role involves approximately 25-30% travel to industry events. You believe fintech should feel intuitive, not transactional, and care about quality and impact over speed.
