The Senior Associate - Business Solutions role focuses on building and maintaining pricing models across solar, storage, and home-improvement financing products (lease, PPA, and loan structures). You will transform unstructured utility rate data into clean, usable inputs; analyze complex tariff structures including time-of-use tiers, demand charges, seasonal rates, and riders; and translate market research into pricing strategies that optimize win rates, profitability, and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Running detailed pricing scenarios for new and existing third-party ownership (TPO) markets, ensuring competitive and financially sustainable pricing
- Leading cross-functional pricing reviews and serving as subject matter expert for internal stakeholders
- Collaborating with Capital Markets, Accounting, FP&A, Data Engineering, and Legal teams to align financial structures, assumptions, and strategy
- Analyzing current product pricing and evaluating new offerings beyond standard TPO, PPA, and lease structures to identify gaps and expansion opportunities
- Preparing and presenting findings, recommendations, and pricing updates to senior leadership
- Mentoring junior analysts and contributing to team development through documentation and knowledge sharing
- Ingesting, validating, and maintaining utility rate datasets (TOU, tiered, demand, fixed riders/credits, net energy metering, community solar credits)
This is a key role within the Business Solutions team supporting growth and optimization of GoodLeap's B2B product suite. The position requires strong analytical and technical capabilities, solid understanding of project finance, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or related quantitative field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
- 2-4+ years of relevant experience in project finance, structured finance, investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance; residential solar or renewable energy experience strongly preferred
- Expertise in pricing analytics, utility market research, energy economics, or related role in residential solar/distributed energy resources or retail energy
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency with financial modeling expertise; VBA experience a plus
- SQL expertise; Databricks familiarity preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical rigor, and problem-solving ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present financial analyses to senior stakeholders
- Self-starter comfortable in fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities
