Salary: USD 200,000 - 235,000 / annual
Celonis is seeking a Senior Applied Value Engineer to lead strategic engagements with the company's most important global accounts. In this role, you will act as a technical pioneer and trusted advisor, diagnosing customer strategy and operational challenges to discover and architect tailored, domain-specific AI solutions on the Celonis platform.
You will own the end-to-end execution of high-stakes Proof-of-Value projects, architecting and delivering secure, scalable LLM and agentic systems with advanced RAG, tool use, and enterprise-grade guardrails. Your work will seamlessly integrate with rigid enterprise data, identity, and compliance frameworks. You will demonstrate business impact to C-suite executives, maintain active involvement with strategic accounts, and ensure successful implementation, adoption, and value realization.
As a domain expert in high-tech operations (e.g., supply chain, finance), you will leverage deep industry knowledge combined with cross-system, AI-driven solutioning to architect end-to-end solutions. You will codify this work into reusable methodology and globally scalable assets to accelerate time-to-value and mentor junior peers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading technical discovery to architect, prototype, and build bespoke, state-of-the-art AI solutions targeting nuanced operational pain points
- Acting as the foremost Celonis product and domain positioning expert, translating complex customer requirements into flawless enterprise architecture
- Leading the end-to-end execution of high-stakes PoV projects with advanced AI systems
- Serving as a trusted advisor to maintain programmatic value realization until agreed-upon value and operational transformations are achieved
- Leveraging domain expertise to architect industry-specific end-to-end solutions and mentor junior peers

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of executive-facing presales and value engineering experience, with demonstrated ability to independently own technical closes and drive compelling AI transformation narratives
- Proven track record in accountable PoV execution, complex ROI/TCO modeling, and pitching visionary solutions to hidden problems, with clear evidence of driving projects through to achieved value
- Comprehensive knowledge of core operational workflows and industry landscapes (e.g., supply chain, finance); ability to speak the language of C-suite executives and connect systemic bottlenecks to strategic AI solutions
- Advanced architectural mastery of LLM orchestration, tool use/function calling, RAG, agents, prompt engineering, and agentic patterns for enterprise workflows
- Expert-level, practical application of linear/nonlinear optimization, rigorous statistical analysis, reinforcement learning, and advanced predictive forecasting
- Extensive experience designing deployment architectures and dictating reliability standards for production-grade AI across cloud providers (AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, GCP Vertex AI)
- Python proficiency, modular API design, ability to create reusable libraries, advanced SQL, and scalable data integration using ML/AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, XGBoost, Hugging Face)
- Proven ability to architect secure enterprise cloud environments with stringent adherence to IAM protocols, data governance frameworks, global privacy laws, and security standards
- Strong presentation skills to internal and external stakeholders including executives; flawless English with exceptional executive presence
- Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related fields, or equivalent work experience preferred
