Salary: USD 127,000 - 147,000 / annual
Ibotta is a leading performance marketing platform (NYSE: IBTA) seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to serve as the technical backbone of the Product Analytics team. In this high-ownership role, you will design, build, and orchestrate production data pipelines that power dashboards and automate analytical processes across the organization.
Key responsibilities include: designing and managing scalable data pipelines using Python, SQL, Spark, and Airflow; managing Databricks infrastructure and overseeing the Airflow-to-DABs migration; owning tracking-event source-of-truth tables and building rollup tables for business events; implementing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and automated testing for analytics code; establishing data quality, reliability, and governance standards including schema validation, data contracts, and anomaly detection; optimizing raw data into consumable formats for downstream Decision Science and BI teams; building and maintaining Looker/LookML dashboards; mentoring team members on engineering best practices; managing cross-functional stakeholder priorities; and collaborating with Data Engineering to streamline ETL processes.
You will operate horizontally across diverse domains including consumer products, client surfaces, and semantic layers, elevating data quality and enabling self-service analytics at scale. The role emphasizes integrating AI into engineering workflows, building Claude skills and plugins to automate and standardize work.
Required qualifications: 5+ years in Analytics, Data, or Software Engineering; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or related field; hands-on production experience with Python, expert SQL, Spark, Airflow, and cloud data warehouses (Databricks preferred); demonstrated practice with automated testing, CI/CD, data validation, and anomaly detection; proven ability to establish self-service patterns and mentor team members in an Agile environment; direct proficiency with Databricks (including DABs), Looker/LookML, Airflow, and GitHub Enterprise.
Preferred: experience with semantic layers, data contracts, event-driven architecture, AI-assisted tooling (Claude, Cursor, Copilot), product experimentation/A/B testing, decision science, or e-commerce/fintech domains.
