Vanta is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to build and lead a world-class analytics function. You'll design and implement complex data models powering dashboards, self-serve analytics, and data science initiatives across the organization. Your work will involve writing highly optimized SQL queries against large-scale data warehouses, enabling AI tooling through semantic layers and observability, and managing the data infrastructure that drives data-driven decision-making.
Key responsibilities include designing dimensional and fact models using modern data practices; implementing dbt-based frameworks to minimize bespoke queries and establish scalable patterns; collaborating with Product and Corporate Engineering teams to structure source systems for enterprise-wide reporting; and developing front-end applications to expose analytical datasets. You'll partner closely with data science teams and business stakeholders to ensure the analytics stack meets current needs while anticipating future requirements.
You'll also champion best practices in data security, anonymization, and compliance management within the data warehouse, and help establish the developer experience of data across the company. The role emphasizes a software engineering mindset applied to analytics—building frameworks rather than one-off solutions.
Required: 4+ years working with data, 2+ years in Software Engineering or related field, and hands-on experience with modern analytics tools (dbt required; Stitch/Fivetran, Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift, Airflow/Dagster, Looker/Mode/Sigma). You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship and demonstrate curiosity about using AI responsibly to amplify your impact.
