Key responsibilities include designing and implementing a formal analytics data layer using AWS Glue, Athena/Presto, and LookML; collaborating across teams to define, document, and maintain alignment on metric definitions and data lineage; developing and maintaining automated data reconciliation and quality checks to proactively identify and resolve discrepancies; leading investigations into complex data anomalies and conducting root cause analysis; and mentoring data science and analytics team members while establishing best practices around data modeling, testing, documentation, and code review. Required qualifications: 4-5 years of professional experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or related discipline; strong SQL expertise and hands-on experience designing data models and orchestrating data pipelines using AWS Glue or similar technologies; demonstrated ability to partner with cross-functional stakeholders to codify and reconcile critical business metrics; proven track record of owning ambiguous projects with minimal guidance; and strong technical communication and mentorship skills. Desired qualifications include 5+ years in analytics engineering or data engineering (ideally B2B SaaS); expertise in Python, distributed computing technologies (Hive, Presto, Spark), and dashboarding tools (Looker, Tableau); proven track record implementing robust data quality and testing frameworks including dbt tests and CI/CD; and experience evangelizing data culture within fast-paced technology organizations. This is a remote role not eligible for hire in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, or WA. Occasional travel may be required for team meetings. Twilio offers competitive compensation, generous time off, parental and wellness leave, healthcare, and retirement savings programs.
