Polymarket is the world's fastest-growing prediction market, enabling individuals to trade on real-world outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. With $115B traded to date and rapid adoption as an alternative news source, the company is building a peer-to-peer marketplace that aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities.
As Senior Analytics Engineer, you will own the modeling layer between raw data and business decisions. You'll work with a small, high-ownership team alongside data engineers and data scientists to transform raw trading and application data into clean, well-defined models and metrics that drive decisions across growth, finance, and market operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build dbt models that transform raw platform, on-chain/off-chain trading activity, and third-party data into trusted, well-documented datasets
- Own definitions of core metrics (volume, traders, retention, acquisition cost, revenue) ensuring consistency across all dashboards and conversations
- Partner with data engineers on warehouse optimization, including materialized views, incremental models, query performance, and cost management
- Build and maintain self-serve reporting in Vercel dashboards and Hex for growth, marketing, finance, and markets teams
- Translate stakeholder questions into durable models rather than one-off queries
- Implement tests and monitoring at the model layer to surface data quality issues early
- Model new products and market types as they launch, keeping the semantic layer aligned with rapid business changes
- Write comprehensive documentation enabling any engineer or analyst to work with your models without friction
You bring 7+ years of analytics engineering or data analytics experience with production ownership of a modeling layer. You have expert SQL skills, hands-on dbt or equivalent experience, and familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow. You're proficient with modern cloud warehouses (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, ClickHouse) and BI tools (Hex, Looker). You understand dimensional modeling and metric design, have software engineering fundamentals for version control and code review, and genuinely care about understanding business drivers behind metrics. Experience with on-chain data, blockchain analytics, fintech, crypto, or prediction markets is a plus.
