Oscar Health is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join its Data Team. Oscar is a technology-first health insurance company founded in 2012, built on a full-stack platform with a focus on member experience.
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain conformed dimensional models that transform raw operational data from multiple independent source systems into reliable, well-structured analytical assets. You'll partner with domain experts and stakeholders to capture business logic, resolve cross-source inconsistencies, and translate requirements into Oscar's unified dimensional model.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and building conformed dimensional models in dbt spanning multiple business domains, including source-to-target mapping, historical change tracking, and shared dimension governance
- Resolving cross-source inconsistencies when integrating independently-built upstream systems to ensure data conforms to shared definitions
- Contributing to semantic layer artifacts that support enterprise business intelligence needs
- Leading cross-functional mid-to-long term projects focused on optimizing and scaling analytics data transformation solutions
- Ensuring data models align with Data Governance principles
- Expanding data quality checks and enhancing monitoring and alerting pipelines
- Developing deep expertise in Oscar's analytics technologies and business domains
- Mentoring junior team members and fostering a culture of analytics excellence
- Leveraging AI tools to accelerate development and improve quality
You will report to the Associate Director, Data Science. The role requires 3 days per week in the NYC office (hybrid), with Thursdays as a mandatory in-office day for team meetings and events.
