Salary: GBP 76,500 - 95,000 / annual
Monzo is a fintech company on a mission to make money work for everyone, offering personal and business bank accounts, savings, investments, pensions, and credit products in the UK. The Analytics Engineering team is core to building Monzo's competitive advantage through a performant, scalable, and high-quality data warehouse.
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you'll work collaboratively with product, engineering, and data science teams to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. You'll be responsible for building robust downstream data models from backend services, primarily in BigQuery, supporting internal reporting, machine learning, and financial/regulatory use cases.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining data models downstream of backend services that support reporting, ML, and financial reconciliation
- Optimizing the data warehouse to reduce complexity and cost
- Defining and managing best practices for data warehouse design, including payload design, logical modeling, implementation, metadata, and testing standards
- Setting standards and ways of working with data across Monzo through collaborative engagement
- Investigating and improving data quality within the warehouse alongside colleagues from other disciplines
- Contributing to prioritization of data governance initiatives
- Providing on-call support for pipelines you contribute to
You'll be part of a team of approximately 60 Analytics Engineers within a broader data organization of 300 practitioners. The role involves regular knowledge-sharing sessions covering data modeling principles, banking fundamentals, and effective communication. This is an individual contributor role focused on technical excellence and establishing best practices across the organization.
