Reporting to the Director, Tax, you will serve as the key preparer for income tax and sales tax filings, provisions, and reconciliations across a growing number of legal entities and products.
Key responsibilities include: preparing and filing monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns (GST/HST/QST) across Wealthsimple's legal entities; preparing income tax returns and related account reconciliations on a monthly basis; taking ownership of month-end and quarter-end tax accounting processes including provision calculations and account reconciliations; maintaining audit-ready documentation and working papers; identifying discrepancies and flagging process gaps; partnering with Finance, Accounting, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance data flow; and contributing to special projects including process improvements, automation, AI-enabled initiatives, technical research, tax modelling, and audit response.
