You will join the Reporting Operations team to support Airwallex's rapid international growth and increasing regulatory obligations. This role manages end-to-end regulatory reporting cycles across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of submissions to regulators.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and executing complete regulatory reporting cycles for assigned jurisdictions: collecting and validating input data, performing reconciliations and reasonableness checks, preparing reporting files and documentation, and coordinating timely submissions to regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Performing in-depth analysis on reporting data with early escalation for exceptions; identifying root causes for discrepancies or data quality issues, working with relevant teams on remediation, and refining controls to reduce operational and reporting risk.
- Identifying opportunities to streamline and automate regulatory reporting workflows and controls; partnering with teams to improve data pipelines, dashboards, and tools, and providing practical process optimization suggestions.
- Supporting regulatory changes, audits, and reviews by assessing reporting impact, updating documentation and controls, and preparing clear explanations and evidence packs for regulators and internal governance forums.
- Contributing to building and maintaining a central regulatory reporting calendar, metrics, and dashboards to track reporting timeliness, quality, and incident trends.
You will work closely with global stakeholders including Global Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams, and cross-functional teams across regions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or above with at least 2 years of relevant working experience in regulatory reporting, risk and financial operations, financial reporting, compliance, or data/analytics roles.
- Experience in payments, banking, or other regulated financial services is preferred.
- Strong analytical and data skills; proficiency in Excel; experience using SQL or similar tools for data querying, validation, and investigation. Experience with reporting systems, data pipelines, or BI/visualization tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and control mindset with proven ability to manage multiple deadlines, navigate complex requirements, and deliver accurate outputs under time pressure.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capability; ability to work closely with global and cross-functional teams across regions.
- Proficiency in English; good reading and writing skills in Mandarin is a plus; ability to adapt to a global and cross-cultural working environment.
