Salary: USD 150,000 - 190,000 / annual

Tempus is seeking a Senior AI Scientist to join the AI Products group, a multidisciplinary team developing AI-driven precision medicine and therapeutic solutions across the clinical and drug development lifecycle. This is a high-impact individual contributor role at the intersection of machine learning and clinical science. You will research, design, and deploy cutting-edge multimodal AI models leveraging one of the world's largest clinical and molecular datasets. Key responsibilities include designing and training state-of-the-art models utilizing multi-modal data including pathology slides (WSI), genomic profiles (DNA/RNA), spatial omics, and longitudinal patient records. You'll collaborate with life sciences companies to develop sophisticated AI solutions supporting biomarker discovery, therapy outcome prediction, and companion diagnostics (CDx) advancement. You will ensure all AI products meet stringent regulatory guidelines and quality standards for healthcare applications, and maintain Tempus's position as a thought leader by publishing original research in high-impact venues and engaging with the global AI research community. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Computer Science or related quantitative field, plus 1+ years of industry experience leading end-to-end development of machine learning models from research through production deployment. You must demonstrate expertise in large-scale deep learning and production-grade model training, with proficiency in Python and modern deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch). Strong product-level coding skills and understanding of industry-standard software engineering practices are essential. Experience in computer vision and multimodal modeling (pathology, multi-omics) is preferred, as is prior work in medical or healthcare AI. A strong track record of peer-reviewed publications in leading machine learning or computer vision venues is valued, particularly in medical/healthcare AI venues.
