Recursion Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Senior AI Researcher to join its cross-functional team pioneering AI-native drug discovery. The role focuses on advancing frontier research and end-to-end applications across drug discovery, design, and translation, working at the intersection of AI and biomedical science.
You will contribute to developing a unifying biomedical world model that bridges virtual patient and virtual cell systems, transforming real-world data into a discovery engine that closes the loop between clinical care and drug discovery. The company operates one of the largest AI compute clusters in biopharma and has built industrial-scale phenomics infrastructure for perturbation data generation at cellular resolution.
The team combines top-notch scientists, engineers, and drug discovery experts in a lean startup-like environment with frontier research, industrialized wet and dry labs, and rapid iteration cycles. You'll work on large-scale datasets and cross-functional AI projects that directly impact drug discovery timelines and precision health outcomes.
Required qualifications include a PhD in Machine Learning, NLP, Computer Vision, or equivalent practical experience, plus 3+ years of frontier AI research experience. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and passion for real-world applications are essential. Experience in biomedicine and drug discovery is a plus, though willingness to learn is paramount.
