Celonis is seeking a Senior AI Integration & Automation Engineer to serve as a technical architect driving automation and integration across the organization. This is a hands-on role where you will design, build, and orchestrate end-to-end technical solutions that connect and manage data flows across the company's systems stack using AI-driven automation.
Key responsibilities include:
• Design and implement robust, scalable AI automation workflows using Make as the primary integration platform, with focus on Workday ERP integration (Finance and HCM modules)
• Take full ownership of technical solutions, managing data flows, transformations, and database manipulation to ensure seamless integration between business systems
• Proactively explore and implement AI applications (LLM-based agents, AI tools) to boost solutions and drive operational efficiency
• Partner with stakeholders across Legal, Finance, HR/Payroll, and IT to identify automation and process improvement opportunities, acting as the technical bridge between business needs and systems capability
• Champion experimentation with new technologies while balancing innovation with security, data integrity, and scalability—especially when handling sensitive financial and people data
• Contribute to documentation and governance frameworks for automation workflows, including Workday integration standards and change management practices
• Independently diagnose complex cross-system issues, identify architectural gaps and risks, and propose creative solutions with trade-off analysis
• Mentor junior colleagues and share domain knowledge through training, documentation, and team rituals
Required qualifications:
• 4+ years building production-grade automation workflows with Make (preferred), n8n, Zapier, or Power Automate
• Strong understanding of multi-step integrations with proper error handling, retries, and auditability; ability to write scripts in Python and/or JavaScript when no-code solutions are insufficient
• Solid hands-on experience with software integration, REST/SOAP APIs, and data modeling
• Demonstrable experience designing and deploying AI-powered workflows, including LLM-based agents, to solve real business problems
• Proactive, self-motivated approach with bias for action; ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with changing requirements
• Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with Finance, Payroll, and technical stakeholders; ability to challenge assumptions and communicate with candor
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn new technical skills in a rapidly evolving landscape
