Adyen is seeking a Senior AI Governance Counsel to join its Global DPO Office and build, roll out, and operate the company's enterprise AI governance framework. This is a builder role focused on translating the EU AI Act, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and emerging global AI and privacy requirements into pragmatic policies, standards, and assessment workflows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and embedding Adyen's enterprise-wide AI governance framework, policies, and standards to drive consistency as AI adoption scales
- Designing and operationalizing AI risk and impact assessments across the AI lifecycle, with particular focus on generative and agentic AI use cases
- Interpreting global AI laws and translating them into practical policies, playbooks, and procedures for first-line teams
- Supporting AI inventory maintenance by defining governance parameters and requirements for cataloguing and risk-classifying AI tools
- Developing enterprise guidance for evaluating AI systems covering performance, fairness, and explainability
- Designing risk-tiered processes that make responsible AI the easy path for fast-moving teams
- Translating model-evaluation techniques (fairness, bias, adversarial testing) into clear procedures for technology teams
- Partnering with Enterprise Risk, Security, Product, Compliance, Legal, Regulatory, and Engineering teams
- Advising on privacy considerations across the AI lifecycle
- Designing and delivering AI governance training to promote responsible AI culture
- Monitoring global AI and privacy developments and translating them into proportionate governance requirements
Required qualifications: 7+ years in governance/privacy with proven background building and managing global AI or privacy governance programs in regulated, multi-jurisdictional environments. Legal qualification (lawyer or governance professional) with substantial AI governance, privacy, or technology risk experience. Prior experience in payments, financial services, or other heavily regulated industries preferred.
