Salary: CAD 130,000 - 170,000 / annual
Banyan Software is a software holding company that acquires, builds, and grows specialized industry software businesses. This role is a Senior AI Business Analyst embedded within one of Banyan's core functional teams—Finance, M&A, Business Development, Human Resources, Legal, or Operations—assigned at hire based on fit and team need.
You will serve as a bridge between your assigned functional team and Banyan's central AI & Data Science organization. Your primary responsibilities span three interconnected areas:
**AI Strategy & Opportunity Identification**: You will deeply embed within your assigned function, learning its workflows, data systems, KPIs, and pain points. You'll identify high-impact AI and data science opportunities that move the function's key metrics, build ROI-driven business cases for each, and sequence them by impact, effort, and risk.
**Technical Translation & Scoping**: You will translate business problems into well-scoped requirements for AI and data science engineers, then interpret model outputs and tool results back into clear, decision-useful terms for functional stakeholders. You'll act as a trusted translator fluent in both the function's mechanics and modern AI/data science capabilities.
**Operationalization & Adoption**: You will partner with functional leaders on roadmap prioritization, drive adoption of AI tools within workflows, train end users, design new processes, and measure usage and real-world outcomes. You'll define and track KPIs for every initiative—including model performance, adoption rates, time saved, decision quality, and dollar impact.
You will report to the Head of AI & Data Science with a dotted line to your assigned functional leader. The role is hybrid, typically 2–3 days per week in the Toronto office, with occasional travel to functional team offsites. You'll stay current on the AI and data science landscape, including LLMs, agentic systems, and modern analytics tools, and share learnings across Banyan's portfolio.
This is a full-time, permanent role suited for someone with strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to operate comfortably at the intersection of business strategy and technical AI/data science.
