Salary: CAD 130,000 - 170,000 / annual
Banyan Software is seeking a Senior AI Business Analyst to embed within its finance organization and drive AI-powered transformation across Tax, Controllership, Treasury, FP&A, and Opco business partnering functions. You will be the first dedicated AI business partner across all of finance, with the opportunity to shape how the role grows and potentially build and lead a team as adoption scales.
The role blends three core responsibilities: (1) AI Strategist—identify, prioritize, and build business cases for AI and data science initiatives that drive finance KPIs across every discipline; (2) Data Science Translator—bridge finance stakeholders and technical AI/data resources, scoping models and interpreting outputs in decision-useful terms; (3) Builder and Operator—prototype and ship working AI tools directly, help finance teams adopt them in workflows, and measure real impact.
You will embed yourself as a trusted partner across finance, learning the data, systems, KPIs, and pain points of each discipline. You will identify and prioritize AI opportunities sequenced by impact, effort, and risk; build ROI cases defining success metrics and failure modes; translate finance problems (close automation, cash forecasting, tax workpaper prep) into well-scoped requirements for AI engineers; and partner with finance leadership on adoption and scaling.
Banyan operates more than 100 portfolio companies across North America, the UK, EU, and APAC, sitting on vast quantities of high-quality financial data. You will leverage this data foundation to modernize finance workflows and help build the infrastructure that powers finance at scale. The role reports to the VP, FP&A with a dotted line to the Lead AI Architect, and is hybrid (typically 3 days per week in the Toronto office).
