BillionToOne is a publicly traded Nasdaq company transforming healthcare through precision diagnostics in prenatal and cancer screening. The Senior Accounting Manager will lead accounting operations for this newly public company navigating its first full year of SOX 404(b) compliance.
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, you will manage a team of GL and AP accountants and own critical financial processes. Key responsibilities include overseeing the month-end and quarter-end close using FloQast, ensuring general ledger accuracy and integrity in NetSuite, and serving as a named control owner within the SOX 404(b) framework. You will maintain control narratives, manage IPE (information produced by the entity) standards, and coordinate remediation of control deficiencies.
You'll act as the primary day-to-day contact for the company's Big 4 external auditors, managing PBC requests, walkthroughs, sample pulls, and fieldwork support. You will own the monthly management reporting package, including month-over-month flux analysis by functional area (COGS, R&D, S&M, G&A), cost-per-test analytics for prenatal and oncology products, and executive summaries for the CFO and leadership.
Additional responsibilities include operationalizing technical accounting conclusions (ASC 842 lease accounting, ASC 730 R&D treatment, self-funded health plan IBNR reserves), driving process improvements to accelerate close timelines while maintaining quality, and providing senior oversight of vendor master and disbursement controls in partnership with Supply Chain.
You should have 8-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years managing close processes and leading direct reports. Post-IPO experience is strongly preferred, as is background in life sciences, diagnostics, or regulated industries. CPA certification is required with deep US GAAP fluency. Hands-on SOX 404(b) experience as a control owner is essential. Strong NetSuite proficiency (including saved searches and ideally SuiteQL) is required; FloQast, Expensify, and Workiva experience are valuable. Advanced Excel and analytical skills are critical.
