The Solana Foundation, a non-profit based in Zug, Switzerland, is seeking a Senior Accountant to build and lead the accounting function across the Foundation and its US subsidiary, SF Operations Inc. This is an operations-first role reporting directly to the Controller, focused on owning the day-to-day financial machinery: bill payments, cash inflows, spend controls, and accurate ledger entries across two entities and accounting standards (Swiss and US GAAP).
In the first six months, you will lead systems implementation work: onboarding a new expense management and bill pay platform, integrating an agentic procurement system, and automating accounts receivable. Beyond that, the role expands to designing process architecture from scratch rather than inheriting legacy workflows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash end-to-end, managing AP and AR as optimized processes with focus on cycle times, accuracy, and stakeholder experience
- Building the finance tech stack alongside the Controller, evaluating and implementing tools, automations, and human-driven workflows
- Managing corporate spend through card programs and expense policies, enforcing controls through process design
- Maintaining a clean general ledger across both entities in compliance with applicable GAAP standards
- Preparing and leading balance sheet and asset reconciliations, including bank transactions and on-chain wallet activity
- Supporting month-end close, financial reporting, budget vs. actual analysis, and ad hoc business analysis
- Proactively identifying and closing control gaps through monitoring and process improvement
You bring 3–5 years of accounting experience combining public accounting firm work with industry exposure, with a CPA credential. You are hands-on with accounting platforms (Xero, QuickBooks), comfortable in automation-friendly databases like Airtable, and have built integrations yourself. You are nimble with evolving accounting tech stacks and can lead tooling projects independently. Blockchain and digital asset familiarity is essential; you can reconcile wallet activity alongside traditional bank statements. You thrive in fast-moving, scaling environments and combine detail obsession with strong analytical problem-solving.
