Wander is a venture-backed marketplace and SaaS platform revolutionizing the $100B+ short-term rental industry. The company operates two connected products: wander.com, a guest-facing marketplace for premium vacation rentals, and Wander OS, an operating system for property managers (similar to Shopify for e-commerce). The company is remote-first but has new in-person offices in Austin and San Francisco.
As Senior Accountant, you'll be a core member of a lean, high-caliber finance team managing the financial operations of both fast-growing businesses. You'll own month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. A key responsibility is ensuring accurate revenue recognition across both the marketplace (transaction-based) and SaaS (subscription) revenue streams in compliance with GAAP ASC 606 standards.
You'll prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for internal stakeholders and external auditors. Cross-functional collaboration is essential—you'll partner with Revenue, Product, and Operations teams to ensure accounting processes scale with new product launches and business growth. You'll support external audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements, and help build and improve accounting systems, processes, and internal controls as the company scales.
The role requires 4+ years of accounting experience. A CPA is nice to have but not required. You'll work in-person 5 days a week at either the Austin or Presidio (SF) office.
