VSCO is a creative platform for photographers, building the connected system photographers rely on for creating, editing, delivering work to clients, and running their business. The company is mission-driven and focused on helping photographers leverage AI and modern tools to unlock creativity. You will join the Accounting team as a Senior Accountant, reporting directly to the Director of Accounting. This is a hands-on role with meaningful ownership across month-end close, general ledger management, audit readiness, and accounting systems and automation. You'll own key areas of the close while helping build smarter, more scalable processes as VSCO grows. Day-to-day responsibilities include: - Own key month-end close activities: balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, prepaid schedules, and related journal entries - Prepare accurate journal entries and maintain clear, audit-ready supporting documentation - Maintain and monitor day-to-day general ledger activity in Campfire (ERP) - Partner with the Director of Accounting to continuously improve the speed, accuracy, and scalability of the close process - Play a key role in the implementation and automation of AP and expense platforms, including workflow design, coding rules, and process improvements - Strengthen reconciliation, documentation, and accounting processes in preparation for audits - Identify inefficiencies across AP, expenses, and the close process and implement practical solutions - Explore responsible ways to leverage AI and automation to reduce repetitive work - Support internal and external audit requests and maintain strong accounting controls - Partner cross-functionally with teams across VSCO as needs evolve This hybrid role is based in San Francisco and designed for someone who values focused work alongside intentional in-person collaboration. QUALIFICATIONS: - 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience with direct ownership of recurring month-end close responsibilities - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and core accounting principles - Experience working within an ERP and confidence learning new financial systems and tools - Ability to independently own workstreams, solve problems, and manage competing priorities - Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the broader business context - Clear, thoughtful written and verbal communication skills - Proactive mindset and genuine interest in improving systems and processes rather than simply maintaining them - Comfort working in a lean, collaborative environment where priorities can evolve quickly Nice to have: CPA, experience within a SaaS/technology/high-growth company, experience with Campfire, Bill.com, Expensify, HubiFi, Ramp, Navan or similar platforms, experience supporting an ERP/AP/expense platform implementation or migration, experience using automation or AI tools to improve finance or accounting workflows.
