As a Senior Accountant, you will be a key member of the accounting team, taking ownership of complex financial statement areas and driving process improvements. You'll prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses while ensuring GAAP compliance. A core part of this role is identifying and implementing automation and AI-enabled tools to streamline the month-end close process, reduce manual work, and improve accuracy.
Key responsibilities include: preparing and maintaining month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations; analyzing financial statements and GL accounts to validate monthly, quarterly, and annual fluctuations; preparing operational and ad hoc reporting; responding to audit information requests; and assisting accounting leadership as needed.
Within your first 90 days, you'll take ownership of assigned financial statement areas (potentially revenue, COGS, inventory, administrative fees), identify at least one process improvement opportunity through automation or workflow enhancement, and build strong cross-functional relationships.
You'll thrive in this role if you have 3–4 years of accounting experience (ideally a mix of public and private accounting), a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and a CPA (preferred). You should have hands-on experience with complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition, inventory, stock-based compensation, debt/equity financing, business combinations, or investments. Public company exposure through audit or industry background is preferred. Strong Excel proficiency, analytical skills, and comfort with ambiguity and undefined processes are essential. You must be comfortable working fully remote and have experience leveraging automation, AI tools, or advanced technology to improve accounting processes.
