VSCO is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Accounting team, reporting directly to the Director of Accounting. This is a hands-on role with meaningful ownership across month-end close, general ledger management, audit readiness, and accounting systems automation.
In this role, you will own key portions of the month-end close from start to finish, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, prepaid schedules, and related journal entries. You'll maintain and monitor day-to-day general ledger activity in Campfire, prepare accurate journal entries with audit-ready documentation, and partner with the Director of Accounting to continuously improve the speed, accuracy, and scalability of the close process.
You'll play a critical role in the implementation and automation of the AP and expense platform, including workflow design, coding rules, and process improvements. This includes identifying inefficiencies across AP, expenses, and the close process and taking ownership of implementing practical solutions. You'll also explore responsible ways to leverage AI and automation to reduce repetitive work and improve accounting workflows.
Additionally, you'll strengthen reconciliation, documentation, and accounting processes in preparation for upcoming audits, support internal and external audit requests, maintain strong accounting controls, and partner cross-functionally with teams across VSCO as accounting needs and business priorities evolve.
This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, designed for someone who values the flexibility of focused work alongside intentional in-person collaboration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience with direct ownership of recurring month-end close responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and core accounting principles
- Experience working within an ERP and confidence learning new financial systems and tools
- Ability to independently own workstreams, solve problems, and manage competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the broader business context
- Clear, thoughtful written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive mindset and genuine interest in improving systems and processes rather than simply maintaining them
- Comfort working in a lean, collaborative environment where priorities can evolve quickly
NICE TO HAVE:
- CPA
- Experience within a SaaS, technology, or high-growth company
- Experience with Campfire, Bill.com, Expensify, HubiFi, Ramp, Navan, or similar accounting and expense platforms
- Experience supporting an ERP, AP, or expense platform implementation or migration
- Experience using automation or AI tools to improve finance or accounting workflows
