Taskrabbit is a marketplace platform connecting people with Taskers for everyday home services like furniture assembly, handyman work, and moving help. The company operates globally with a hybrid workforce across the US and EU, owned by IKEA.
The Senior Accountant role is responsible for overseeing the organization's core disbursement accounting processes and international statutory accounting. This is a people-management position supervising an offshore team of 3 contractors.
Key responsibilities include:
Team & Process Management: Direct daily activities of the offshore accounting team to ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and employee expense reports. Oversee the full procure-to-pay (P2P) cycle including vendor file maintenance, invoice receipt and coding, payment disbursement, monthly accruals, and reconciliations. Manage end-to-end employee expense reporting and reimbursement processes while ensuring T&E policy compliance. Serve as primary point of contact for AP and expense-related inquiries via Slack and email. Coordinate with third-party accountants and auditors to ensure statutory compliance for Poland and UK entities.
Accounting & Reconciliation: Own reconciliation of disbursement-related accounts including prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intangible assets, accumulated depreciation, lease accounts, accounts payable, accrued expenses, and accrued litigation. Manage the fixed asset lifecycle including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals. Account for intangible assets, amortization, and software capitalization in compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards. Contribute to month-end and quarter-end close processes.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; 4+ years progressive accounting experience with AP supervisory background; proven experience overseeing P2P processes and supervising teams; knowledge of UK and Polish accounting principles. Preferred: ICAEW ACA, ACCA, or CPA certification; Big 4 experience; technology company background; proficiency with Netsuite, Ramp, Tipalti, and Slack.
The role operates on a hybrid schedule requiring two days in-office collaboration per week (Tuesdays & Wednesdays) from the London office.
