LeagueApps is the operating system and community platform for youth and local sports leaders, serving over 10 million participants nationwide through thousands of clubs, tournaments, leagues, camps, and facilities. You will serve as the day-to-day backbone of the accounting function, reporting directly to the Controller. This is a hands-on role with real ownership across the full accounting cycle. You will own accounts payable (vendor onboarding, invoice coding, payment runs, vendor management), accounts receivable (invoicing, cash application, collections, aging analysis), and monthly balance sheet reconciliations including cash, prepaids, accruals, and payment processor accounts.
Key responsibilities include preparation and posting of journal entries for monthly and quarterly closes, maintenance of the general ledger with accurate GAAP-compliant documentation, partnership with the Controller on close timelines and audit requests, and identifying opportunities to modernize processes through automation and AI tooling. You will also partner cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to resolve billing and payment questions.
The role emphasizes precision, ownership, and direct impact on leadership decision-making. You will have the opportunity to evaluate where automation belongs and challenge existing processes. Required: 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience in high-volume transactional environments, strong GAAP knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, hands-on AP/AR/reconciliation/journal entry experience, ability to communicate accounting issues cross-functionally, Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field, and comfort working independently in a fully remote environment. Eastern Time Zone preference for team collaboration. Must be located in one of the specified states: AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, MA, MD, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NY, PA, SC, VA, WA.
Nice-to-have: experience with AI/automation tools for accounting processes (invoice capture, coding, reconciliation matching, close documentation) and SaaS/subscription business experience.
