LeagueApps is the operating system and community platform for youth and local sports leaders, serving over 10 million participants nationwide through a SaaS platform that handles registration, payments, communications, and league management. The company is backed by professional leagues and athletes, and operates the FundPlay Foundation, a nonprofit supporting youth sports development.
You will serve as the day-to-day backbone of the accounting function, reporting directly to the Controller. This is a hands-on role with real ownership across the full accounting cycle. You will own accounts payable (vendor onboarding, invoice coding, payment runs, vendor management), accounts receivable (invoicing, cash application, collections, aging analysis), and monthly balance sheet reconciliations including cash, prepaids, accruals, and payment processor accounts.
Key responsibilities include preparing and posting journal entries for monthly and quarterly closes, maintaining the general ledger with accurate GAAP-compliant documentation, partnering with the Controller on close timelines and audit requests, and identifying opportunities to modernize processes through automation and AI tooling. You'll also work cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to resolve billing and payment issues.
The role requires 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience in high-volume transactional environments, strong GAAP knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to communicate accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders. You must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and be comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment. Eastern Time Zone preference for team collaboration, but strong candidates across all US time zones are welcome.
