The Senior Accountant role is a hands-on position with significant growth potential, ideal for someone ready to take ownership of key accounting functions in a scaling organization. This is not a management role but rather a senior individual contributor position focused on building scalable accounting processes.
Key responsibilities include overseeing complex general ledger accounts (deferred revenue, inventory, COGS), managing month-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations, supporting preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements under ASPE, liaising with external auditors, and identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Sales, and Development teams.
In the first year, success means accelerating the month-end close cycle with clean and accurate reconciliations, establishing strong working relationships across departments to provide actionable reporting, and optimizing core accounting processes to build scalable internal controls as the company grows.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience; CPA designation (or in progress); strong Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs); and demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate thrives in agile environments and is passionate about building scalable processes.
