Figma is seeking a Security Scientist to join its Security team and help identify and drive impactful projects to improve the safety and security of Figma's product, platform, and IT systems. In this role, you will leverage data analysis skills to understand attacker and user behavior, build detections, and guide security strategy across the company. Key responsibilities include: - Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Data Science, and other teams to understand and solve security and anti-abuse problems - Create new datasets and metrics to understand attacker and user behavior on the Figma platform and internal systems - Build detections and tune signal quality across Figma's products, platforms, and internal systems, translating attacker behavior into data-driven detections - Lead and support security investigations, developing datasets, tooling, and analysis to scope incidents, understand root cause, and reduce detection and response time - Translate threat intelligence into action by operationalizing intel on threat actors and techniques to prioritize detection coverage and guide security strategy - Conduct investigations and design reviews to identify current and new attack vectors - Advocate for security and secure practices throughout the organization Required qualifications: - Strong understanding of real-world security, anti-abuse, and detection and response challenges - Fluency in SQL with proficiency in Python, R, or similar scripting languages - Experience with distributed data processing systems (Hive, Redshift, Presto, Snowflake, Spark) - Strong knowledge of statistical methods and experimental design - Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills Desired qualifications include self-starting mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills.
