As a Backend Engineer II (SDE 2), you will design, develop, and optimize scalable backend systems powering AiDASH's web and mobile platforms. You'll own end-to-end feature development, translating product requirements into production-ready microservices that operate at scale. Working closely with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers, you'll build data-driven applications while maintaining high availability, fault tolerance, and performance efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and deploy scalable distributed microservices and backend systems
- Build systems supporting user-facing workflows backed by automated pipelines and ML models
- Work with relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases for business intelligence and application data
- Implement resilient distributed systems ensuring fault tolerance and near 100% uptime
- Establish testability and observability for production systems
- Conduct peer code reviews and refactor services for quality and efficiency
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance and resource utilization
- Evolve AiDASH's architecture as the platform scales
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years designing and building scalable, reusable products and components
- Strong microservices and systems design expertise
- Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, Java, Spring Boot, or Python
- Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
- Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs
- Operational proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
- Knowledge of performance optimization, load testing, and profiling
- Understanding of backend security, encryption, authentication, and authorization
- Familiarity with distributed system architecture, load balancing, and compliance requirements
