Until is seeking a Scientist/Senior Scientist in High-Throughput Screening to lead the day-to-day execution and continuous improvement of their cryoprotectant screening program. This role sits at the intersection of experimental biology, assay development, and team coordination, supporting the company's mission to advance organ-scale reversible cryopreservation. You will manage the screening workflow end-to-end: from cell-culture readiness and HTS assay execution through data analysis, quality control, and interpretation. Key responsibilities include coordinating the screening team's work, mentoring team members, and ensuring timely delivery of screening milestones. You will design and execute functional assays to characterize cellular responses following cryoprotectant exposure, develop and validate mechanism-of-action assays to identify drivers of toxicity, and guide the design of less-toxic formulations. You will work closely with assay scientists, biologists, and automation engineers to integrate primary cells and iPSC-derived models into scalable screening workflows. You will improve the integration of renal, cardiac, and hepatic cell models into the screening pipeline, increase throughput and reproducibility in partnership with automation engineers while maintaining biological relevance and data quality, and use chromatography and mass spectrometry to assess compound purity. You will analyze multiparametric datasets, prioritize findings for follow-up, and communicate actionable recommendations to colleagues developing cryoprotectant formulations. This is a hands-on role that combines experimental work, team leadership, and responsibility for delivering screening milestones in a fast-paced, mission-driven research environment. REQUIREMENTS: - PhD in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Cell Biology, Physiology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Tissue Engineering, or related field, OR equivalent expertise through at least 4 years of relevant experience managing research projects end-to-end - Demonstrated experience independently designing, executing, and improving cell-based high-throughput screening workflows - Skilled in assay development using primary cells or iPSC-derived cells, with experience in at least one renal, cardiac, or hepatic model - Experienced in developing mechanistic assays and translating screening results into testable hypotheses about cellular toxicity - Comfortable working hands-on with plate-based assays, imaging, flow cytometry, and analytical chemistry methods (HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS) - Experienced in quantitative analysis of screening data, including quality control, statistical interpretation, and analysis of multiple experimental readouts - Able to coordinate and mentor a scientific team, manage interdependent workflows, and take responsibility for experimental execution and outcomes - Collaborative, receptive to diverse perspectives, and comfortable adapting priorities in a fast-paced environment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience scaling automated screening workflows in close partnership with lab automation engineers - Experience integrating iPSC-derived cells or advanced 3D models into high-throughput screening pipelines - Experience with high-content imaging, transcriptomics, or other approaches connecting cellular phenotypes to mechanisms of toxicity - Proficiency in Python or R for analysis, visualization, and interpretation of complex screening datasets - Experience relating compound purity measurements to biological assay results
