Finto is seeking an SAP Integration Architect to own the design and implementation of integrations between customer SAP systems and Finto's AI-powered finance platform. You will be the first dedicated SAP hire and will define how the practice evolves.
In this hands-on role, you will work directly with the CTO and founding team to architect end-to-end data flows (master data, invoices, postings, write-back) across diverse SAP landscapes including R/3, ECC, S/4HANA, on-premise and cloud deployments, Business One, and Business ByDesign. You will select appropriate integration patterns (OData, IDoc, BAPI/RFC, BTP/CPI, file-based) for each customer scenario and build a repeatable connector platform with templates, validation, monitoring, and tooling to accelerate future implementations.
Key responsibilities include translating financial and materials management process knowledge into technical specifications and field mappings; shipping production code alongside the engineering team in Node.js and TypeScript; serving as the SAP authority with customers, their integration partners, and internal stakeholders; and establishing standards for SAP go-live processes that progressively move into the product.
You will work in a 5-day-per-week in-office environment in Munich, with exposure to real enterprise SAP landscapes from day one, not sandboxes. The company is headquartered in Munich with connections to San Francisco through Y Combinator.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on SAP integration work across multiple SAP generations (R/3, ECC, S/4HANA) in real customer landscapes
- Deep knowledge of accounts payable processes in SAP: FI module, MM module, document flow for incoming invoices, tax determination, and field mapping nuances
- Fluency across SAP's integration surface: OData, IDocs, BAPI/RFC, BTP/CPI, and understanding of clean core principles
- Strong coding skills in TypeScript/Node.js; you must architect and build, not just specify
- Product instinct: preference for building reusable patterns over repetitive field mapping
- Confidence presenting to enterprise IT teams with directness about technical feasibility
- Fluent in German and English
- Bonus: ABAP experience, SAP consulting background, or prior work automating your own processes
