You will build and lead a team of Enterprise Account Executives focused on large digital natives and category leaders in software, financial services, and healthcare—organizations with significant data, distribution, and budget, many still determining what to build in-house versus outsource and at what cost.
As Sales Manager, you will recruit and develop high-performing enterprise sellers, run complex deals alongside them during team ramp, and shape Baseten's enterprise go-to-market playbook. This is a high-influence role reporting close to founders and GTM leadership.
Key responsibilities include: recruiting and onboarding enterprise sellers; coaching reps through long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving buying committees, security/procurement navigation, and seven- to eight-figure deal closure; elevating consultative selling so reps advise customers on AI strategy rather than just product evaluation; partnering on go-to-market strategy and vertical prioritization; operating as a player-coach and carrying deals yourself while the team builds; maintaining product depth to guide technical evaluations, POCs, and architecture reviews with forward-deployed engineers; collaborating with Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Legal to translate enterprise requirements into roadmap and GTM input; and building a culture of accountability, learning, and collaboration.
Requirements: 8+ years of closing experience with 2+ years managing high-performing teams; proven success in enterprise sales closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals inside large organizations; experience selling into large digital natives or regulated industries (financial services, healthcare/life sciences, insurance, public sector); track record of recruiting strong sellers, ideally on new or early-stage teams; strong technical acumen, ideally in AI infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, or developer platforms; willingness to sell and manage while the team is small; based in New York and able to be in office at least 3 days per week (Tuesday to Thursday).
