Spire Global, a space-to-cloud analytics company operating the largest multi-purpose satellite constellation, is seeking an ambitious Sales Manager to own revenue growth for its aviation portfolio across the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions. This is a quota-carrying, full-cycle sales role with significant autonomy and regional ownership.
The role combines two tightly linked sales motions: (1) partner ecosystem sales to commercial defense contractors, systems integrators, application service providers, and data integrators that deliver national aviation, airspace, and security programs; and (2) direct sales to civil aviation authorities, defense agencies, maritime security organizations, and multi-domain awareness users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and execute a comprehensive territory plan across the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, mapping the contractor and integrator ecosystem, government agencies, budgets, procurement vehicles, and prime relationships by country, prioritizing high-revenue opportunities.
- Hunt relentlessly through proactive outbound prospecting and disciplined qualification to meet and exceed assigned quota; this is a demand-creation role, not order-taking.
- Sell through the partner ecosystem (B2B2G): build and maintain relationships with defense contractors and integrators, identify and qualify positions that embed Spire's aviation data into their programs and bids, get onto bid teams before tender publication, secure teaming agreements, and establish Spire as the default data layer on recurring recompetes.
- Build the reseller channel by structuring and negotiating reselling and distribution agreements with data integrators and software companies to create scalable indirect revenue alongside direct business.
- Sell direct to government (B2G): uncover operational needs of civil aviation authorities, ANSPs, defense and security agencies, maritime security organizations, search and rescue organizations, transport ministries, and research institutions; propose tailored solutions built on Spire's global flight tracking, historical data, and analytics.
- Navigate government procurement: lead responses to tenders, RFPs, and RFIs; structure deals through direct contracts, teaming agreements, and reseller or integration partnerships; manage long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles with rigor and patience.
- Develop deep expertise across Spire's aviation APIs, ADS-B coverage, historical flight datasets, and their applications in airspace monitoring, security, maritime and multi-domain awareness, airport and airline operations, search and rescue, safety oversight, and AI model development to communicate compelling value to technical and executive audiences.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success teams to support account growth and product expansion.
- As Spire's portfolio expands, grow into selling integrated products: Aviation + Weather and Aviation + RF geolocation (RFGL) signal-interference products.
The role operates with the autonomy of a regional owner and requires establishing Spire as the trusted aviation data partner across two of the fastest-growing aviation markets in the world.
Workplace: Hybrid model requiring a minimum of three days per week in the Glasgow office. Flexible, remote-first working within a collaborative, international team spanning four continents.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission and equity participation.
- Generous time off policy, local statutory benefits, and support for professional development (benefits vary by country of employment).
- Global perks include Name Your Satellite Program (NYSP), launch attendance, education assistance, employee assistance program (EAP), employee stock purchase program (ESPP), family leave, fitness reimbursement, employee referral program, and healthy snacks & beverages in every office.
Note: Access to US export-controlled software and/or technology may be required for this role. Spire will arrange necessary licenses; candidates do not need to have these before applying.
Requirements (inferred from role description):
- Proven track record as a quota-carrying sales professional in complex, government-facing or B2B2G sales environments.
- Deep understanding of how governments and their delivery ecosystems buy through long procurement cycles, tenders, RFPs, offsets, and partner-delivered programs.
- Experience selling to or through defense contractors, systems integrators, application service providers, or data integrators.
- Demonstrated ability to hunt, prospect, and create demand in new or underdeveloped territories.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, particularly with C-suite and government stakeholders.
- Ability to master technical product knowledge and communicate value to both technical and executive audiences.
- Comfort with ambiguity, autonomy, and the ability to operate as a regional owner with minimal direct supervision.
- Experience navigating multi-stakeholder, long-cycle sales is highly valued.
- Familiarity with aviation, defense, maritime, or aerospace sectors is a plus but not required.
