Checkly is hiring a Sales Engineer to support the expansion of its active reliability platform—a unified testing, synthetic monitoring, and observability solution trusted by engineering teams at Vercel, CrowdStrike, 1Password, Airbus, Mistral, ServiceNow, and Fastly. The company raised $20M in Series B funding and is building an AI-native workflow that helps developers and agents catch reliability issues before customers do.
In this role, you will be the technical bridge between prospects and customers, ensuring they get maximum value from Checkly. Your responsibilities include: learning the Checkly platform and monitoring space deeply to help customers solve real reliability problems; supporting technical evaluations alongside the senior CSE and sales team; assisting existing customers with technical questions, implementations, and adoption; contributing to technical documentation and internal playbooks; and sharing customer insights with Product and Engineering teams.
You should have professional experience in a technical, customer-adjacent role—such as software engineering with meaningful customer interaction, technical consultancy, professional services, or developer relations. Strong technical skills are essential: you must be able to read, write, and debug code (JavaScript/Node.js preferred). You should be comfortable using AI tools (Claude, Codex, etc.) to accelerate customer-facing work, including researching prospect environments, generating tailored demo code, building proof-of-concept repositories, and drafting technical responses. You need genuine interest in direct customer engagement, excellent communication skills in English, and the ability to work autonomously in an async-first environment while collaborating with colleagues. Location requirement: ET+/-1 time zones.
Checkly offers transparent, competitive pay with a 70% base / 30% commission split. Salary ranges vary by location: $80k–$124k OTE for Argentina-equivalent markets; $107k–$155k OTE for US locations; $134k–$185k OTE for Tier 1 US cities (NYC, Boston). Additional benefits include stock options, flexible paid vacation, paid sick leave, up to 14 weeks paid parental leave, and an annual company on-site. The company emphasizes transparency, async-first operations, and inclusive culture.
