Salary: USD 140,000 - 175,000 / annual
Momentus is an early-stage aerospace company pioneering in-space transportation and infrastructure services. The company has developed cost-effective, energy-efficient in-space systems and is commercializing space infrastructure.
You will serve as a Sales Solution Engineer, owning the delivery of customer-facing technology and customer success. This role bridges the gap between Momentus's space-based capabilities and complex customer mission requirements, requiring both deep technical expertise and sales acumen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop complete space-based mission concepts supporting proposals based on Momentus offerings and customer needs
- Translate program requirements into technical narratives that clearly explain how Momentus capabilities map to customer constraints and outcomes
- Pitch technology with credibility, leveraging space mission and domain background to build trust with program managers and technical authorities
- Navigate programmatic realities including requirements development, budgeting cycles, contracting pathways, and stakeholder coordination
- Partner closely with product managers and engineers to ensure mission context is accurately reflected in technical scope, tradeoffs, and delivery plans
- Perform engineering trade studies, develop system budgets, and answer system design questions
- Evaluate spacecraft performance and constellation configurations
You will work in a fast-paced environment on complex challenges, with a mission-first mindset focused on real operational outcomes. The role requires independent work and strong collaboration across technical and business teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
- B.S. in Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Experience designing and presenting complex space systems and solutions that bridge business problems and technology
- Expertise in space systems engineering
- Strong ability to scope, pitch, and sell technical solutions to stakeholders
- Proven experience navigating programmatic realities (budgets, requirements, authorities, timelines, stakeholder dynamics)
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent technical, written, and verbal communication skills
- U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) required (export control compliance)
DESIRED:
- Spacecraft or space-specific systems engineering experience
- Previous experience on DoD and other USG development and deployment programs
- Ability to hold and maintain a USG Security Clearance
