Avoca is an AI-powered conversational platform transforming how home service companies engage customers. The company handles high-value inbound calls—from job booking to lead qualification—using AI agents that match or exceed human call center performance. Series B backed by Kleiner Perkins, Meritech Capital, and General Catalyst with $125M raised and a $1B valuation, Avoca has scaled 10x in 2025 to 130+ employees across NYC and Santa Barbara offices, operating in a $1T+ market where 85% of missed calls go to competitors. As Sales Engineer, you'll be the technical authority embedded in the sales process, partnering closely with Account Executives on complex, high-stakes deals. You'll lead technical deep dives, tailored demos, and solution walkthroughs for mid-market and enterprise prospects. Your responsibilities include running structured technical discovery to understand customer systems and integration needs, designing customer-specific solutions, serving as the primary technical owner in pre-sales, answering complex questions about product architecture, AI behavior, scalability, and security, and supporting pilots and technical validation efforts. You'll address technical objections, advise on deployment strategies, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, AI Enablement, RevOps, and customer teams to unblock deals. You'll ensure smooth handoffs from pre-sales to post-sales and contribute to pre-sales playbooks, demos, and technical messaging. You bring 4+ years in Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar pre-sales technical roles in B2B SaaS. You're comfortable leading technical conversations with mid-market and enterprise customers across complex sales cycles, understand SaaS architectures and APIs, and can explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. You have experience with enterprise sales motions, familiarity with AI-powered products or conversational AI platforms, and background in implementations, technical program management, or customer onboarding. Experience with call center software, communications platforms, or CRM integrations is a plus. You're self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and thrive in fast-moving, high-growth environments. You own processes end-to-end, balance multiple initiatives, work autonomously with ambiguity, and communicate proactively. You're collaborative, organized, efficient, and eager to work in-person full-time.
